Prelude Conversations and Talk-backs

Learn more about the music you will hear!

Prelude Conversations

Join us one hour before all Jack M. Champaigne Masterworks concerts for a 30-minute pre-concert talk! Our Prelude Conversation talks are designed to enhance your enjoyment of the concert by providing an in-depth look at the repertoire and composers prior to the performance.

The Prelude Conversations will include informal and engaging discussion with our Music Director Alastair Willis, guest conductors, guest artists, and members of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. These music experts may bring different viewpoints and approaches to their conversations about the music. Some might explore why a composer wrote a particular piece of music, examining its social and historical context. Others might look at how a piece of music is constructed, guiding listeners through excerpts of the works being performed.

There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask our musical experts questions!

Mosaic Talk-backs

After each of our June H. Edwards Mosaic concerts, enjoy an enlightening conversation with Maestro Willis and members of the orchestra! Expand your knowledge of the programming in the beautiful setting of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center and be sure to chime in with questions about the program that was just performed.

Prelude Conversations and Mosaic Talk-backs are free for all ticket holders.
